Farmers markets are recession proof

What does $30 get you at a farmers market these days?  A helluva lot.

fm8_01_09afm8_01_09bfm8_01_09c.jpgStill not convinced to frequent your local market?  How does 10 pounds of local peaches for $6, $0.50 bunches of cilantro, 7 lemons for $2, 6 limes for $1.  Baby eggplant for $0.99 a pound, cabbage for $0.39 a pound?  I can go on and on.   Farmers markets are at least 50 percent of the cost of produce at you local grocery store and the best thing is it’s local (less of a carbon footprint) and your supporting small business.  Who says going granola can’t build up capitalism?
